Founded
by Don Fowler in 1985, Fowler Energy is an engineering
firm at heart. By taking an engineering approach to
energy procurement, we have been able to develop and
analyze a large variety of competitive energy alternatives for our clients
to reduce delivered energy costs. Fowler has
developed tailored energy procurement strategies
over the past 18 years and, through cost analysis,
identified and developed various energy
procurement alternatives on a site specific basis. Even
in otherwise regulated monopoly environments, results
were then used as bargaining tools to "create
competition".
Fowler
Energy originally applied this methodology to natural
gas procurement. Using this approach, we were able
to lower clients' transportation,
or obtain it where none was
previously offered.
It
was a natural progression for Fowler Energy to aggregate
the natural gas loads of our clients using competitive
bidding. Aggregated bidding produces better resultant
pricing than clients could obtain alone.
In 1993, we applied the same "developed alternatives" methodology to
electric procurement services and began negotiating electric contracts for our
clients. From 1994 through 2000, we obtained more than $16 million dollars in
net electrical costs savings for our clients. All of these savings were obtained
in markets that were still regulated. With the advent of deregulation we have
concentrated on competitive electric procurement for our clients, grouping end
users where possible and requesting competitive bids from all qualified
suppliers. |
